Getting There & Around

International air travel to São Paulo is via the São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), also known as “Cumbica.” The airport is located 18 miles (25km) northeast of São Paulo.
There are tourist information and help desks (tel: (011) 6445 2380 or 4029) on the Arrivals floor of Terminals 1 and 2 and there are also two Infraero information counters in both terminals. Comunicação Social can help with specific enquiries (tel: (011) 6445 2256 or 2891).

Taxis and bus service operate to downtown São Paulo.

Taxi: Prepaid radio taxis serve the terminals, such as Guarucoop. Reception desks are located in the airport terminals near the lower level exits. www.guarucoop.com.br/eng/.

Bus: The airport bus connects with the city centre. There is also an executive city bus for which tickets should be purchased in advance on the Arrivals floor. There is also a shuttle minibus service which runs to the city centre (journey time – 30-50 minutes).

Metro: The São Paulo Metro has four lines with 55 stations throughout the city. This subway is considered one of the best in the world.
