} Sr. Analyst, Project Measurement (80-83K) Overview: Federated Systems Group (FSG) has an immediate need for a Sr. Analyst, Project Measurement. The role of the Senior Analyst – Project Measurement is to collect and analyze data relating to the products developed and processes implemented within FSG, to support effective management of the processes, and to objectively demonstrate the quality of the product. Key Accountabilities: Establishing metrics for process measurement and enabling data to be collected and analyzed against the metrics Establishing metrics for work products properties, especially quality, and enabling data to be collected and analyzed against the metrics Analyzing processes with benchmarks; finding gaps of process to the benchmarks; providing recommendations for improving processes to narrow the gaps Developing and supporting an operational metrics program that supports the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Ensuring a metrics program is developed, documented, and administered by: Developing a metrics baseline, metrics program, and collection mechanisms Researching existing IT processes and creating specific metric goals Continually improving/enhancing the IT metrics program Analyzing metrics data and producing statistical summaries Maintaining statistical data and trending patterns of IT performance metrics Developing/conducting metrics workshops and/or guidance documents Maintaining metrics history Recommending process improvement actions Skills Summary: 4+ years of work experience including 2 or more years working with software development (Systems Development Life Cycle) processes and/or developing software applications Experience using performance measurement, quality engineering, and statistical analysis techniques Understanding of benchmarking techniques, processes and tools Experience with CMM/CMMI or ISO or Six Sigma or other process engineering/quality assurance methodologies Experience using function point counting and how to use function points in metrics tracking Proficient PC skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Proficiency with MS Access or other database tool Education: BS/BA degree or equivalent experience (preferably in computer science, quantitative analysis, operations research or a similar field FSG is the information technology division of Federated Department Stores, Inc.
