Can anyone share any success stories or pit falls when estimating using using Cost Xpert? We are preparing Function Points based upon requirements (level of detail may vary) and using an 'average' complexity rating for all Function Point components. The results of the CostXpert tool (based upon several selected models) may produce a significantly lower estimate for the effort than the bottoms-up estimate. The languages, architecture, technology, etc vary significantly and the factors are provided to the tool for each estimate. This is a new estimating approach thus there is no history in-house for the Cost Xpert tool. I would appreciate any experience you can share. Thank you.
